Day 287

Mike and I visited a small old cemetery today. We were looking for a particular headstone, but we love reading each one and "imagining" the story of families! Lots of infants in this one! Many in the early 1900's around the time when my two of my grandmother's siblings died within a few days of each other from Scarlet Fever. We always look for the earliest birthdate, and this time was in 1814. Here are some of those we saw today.

  2. My husband and I walked many cemeteries firstly when just simply 'doing' the family tree and then a couple of years back tracking down family in the war graves in Northern Europe. Interesting but so sad, so many young men killed during the wars and what for! Have a great day Diane

  3. Was it usual for people to live to 82 years in the 1800's? Hope you found what you were searching for.
